Welcome Letter from Kathryn Hall

Thank you for being interested in coming to work with us here in Mid Sussex.  

I have been the Chief Executive for 14 years. The time has flown by, and it has been wonderful to see our organisation grow and make a positive impact for residents, businesses, and partners.

Mid Sussex have always been very successful at attracting inward investment. Thus, we lead and collaborate on many unique projects and programmes. An excellent example of this is our £1bn Growth Programme, delivering 5,000 new homes and significant local infrastructure in one of our local towns.  We are proving attractive to business. We have invested £12m in 115km of full-fibre and we will soon
be one of the best digitally connected places in the Country. Mid Sussex is rural but well-connected area. 64% of our area falls within highly protected landscapes, but we are also well served by road and rail networks. Mid Sussex is characterised by beautiful villages and towns.  

We are looking for someone who understands the importance of collaborative working, especially in complex organisations, with multiple, often very influential stakeholders. Someone that has experience
of working under pressure to successfully deliver ambitious programme of work. We are open-minded about your working background and would also welcome applications from candidates from sectors beyond local government if you have the necessary transferrable skills and experience.
The work ahead of us is both challenging and exciting.
