About the Council

Mid Sussex District Council is a dynamic, forward-thinking local authority in the heart of southern England. We have clear priorities and are proud that our service provision is consistently rated highly by the local community. We value our relationships with partners working collaboratively to deliver projects and secure inward significant investment across the district.  We are a friendly and positive team and welcome new ideas and opportunities to learn from each other.

Recently we restructured the top 4 management tiers. We agreed a new People Strategy that will shape the culture of our organisation going forward.   We have an ambitious programme of work, including further redesigning of our services. This is a unique opportunity for an ambitious individual to join an authority with aspirations to match.

We are a great employer to work for, situated in a glorious part of the country with great staff benefits to offer, including generous holiday, pension, agile working (flexible approach to a blend of home working and office based) and free car parking (including free charging for electric vehicles).

Around 300 staff work for the Council. You can see details of the leadership team here.
