Led by the Mayor of South Yorkshire and the four council Leaders of Barnsley, Doncaster, Sheffield and Rotherham we work hard to improve the lives of South Yorkshire’s places, businesses and people. We do this through formal and informal partnerships with our business community, our universities and colleges, police and fire, the Integrated Care Partnership and Government Departments and their agencies.

In the last year alone the MCA has been central to securing the UKs first Investment Zone, we’ve brought Supertram back into public ownership, invested hundreds of millions in infrastructure, housing and transport – and funded adult education right across South Yorkshire alongside supporting inward investment into the region.

Through our ambitious growth plans, our ever increasing devolved powers and resources and our committed partnership we are making a real difference. With the integration of the Police and Crime functions into the Mayoral Combined Authority there is even more we can do together.

We’ve achieved so much working together. But there is so much more to do.

Our region offers outstanding quality of life; from urban and city living in England’s fifth largest city, a third of which sits in the Peak District National Park to thriving villages and neighbourhoods across the region. The region is also home to a nationally significant independent food scene right across our four local authority areas, the largest theatre district outside of London producing nationally significant productions and some of the newest and on trend neighbourhoods in the country.

With our connectivity, a fantastic quality of life, a research and industrial base that is superbly well placed to support growth in growing UK and global markets, this is not only a great region in which to work – but also to live.

To deliver more for South Yorkshire we need to continue to build our team to get the job done. The two roles we’re seeking to fill are critical roles in the next step of the journey; ensuring we meet both statutory obligations as well as our wider ambitions for South Yorkshire.
