This role will be instrumental in building on our achievements to date, and realising our remarkable potential. Working closely with our elected Mayor and Chief Executive, you’ll be the principal policing specialist and advisor to the Mayor and MCA team – taking a lead role in shaping the Mayor’s Police and Crime plan priorities and leading work to create ever closer ties between the work of local authorities, health service providers, criminal justice agencies, blue light services and communities.

As a member of the Executive Leadership Board, you’ll help shape a pro-active and responsive organisation that’s agile, innovative and high performing. With a focus on early intervention and prevention, you’ll identify and develop opportunities to transform services to support people and communities to thrive, improving outcomes for our people and communities. Early priorities include increasing the trust and confidence of all of South Yorkshire’s communities in policing, and improving the support provided for victims. You’ll need system-level experience in a comparable role, but will also have a detailed understanding of how individuals experience contact with criminal justice services.
