Director of Public Health

Location: Somerset

Salary: £112,000 - £117,000

Reference: A000608

Status:

From Starting Well to Living Well and Aging Well, we’re working to deliver a comprehensive public health offer across Somerset. Our shared vision for Somerset is that people live healthy and independent lives, supported by thriving and connected communities with timely and easy access to high-quality and efficient public services when they need them. We’re helping people take responsibility for their own health and wellbeing, supporting them to be resilient, and enabling them to live independently.

This role plays a fundamental part in advancing and achieving this complex agenda. We’re looking for candidates who can demonstrate a sophisticated understanding of the DPH accountabilities, and its role in supporting county-wide improvement of health outcomes.

You’ll be the lead on our recently-secured Health Determinants Research Grant, so experience of managing a comparable programme would be an advantage. As a new organisation, the Council has a unique culture and sense of possibility, and you’ll relish being part of our inspiring shared vision for Somerset.
