The Liverpool City Region is world-famous for its history, culture and creativity. A place of firsts, it is the birthplace of modern railways, public health and international trade. Now, our economy is being transformed once again, changing the world through world-leading innovation in health and life sciences, digital and creative, and advanced manufacturing - growing an economy already worth £35 billion a year.
The Combined Authority plays a central role in catalysing this innovation-led economy. We are seizing the unique opportunity to use our devolved powers and funding to create wealth and prosperity for all our 1.6 million residents and the whole UK - investing in our economy, people, place, transport and digital infrastructure. Our vision is for the Liverpool City Region to be: The best place to grow up, grow a family, and grow a business - where no-one is left behind.
As part of this transformation, we’re creating a modern integrated transport system investing hundreds of millions in new trains on our Merseyrail network, new stations, zero emission hydrogen buses, a safer cycling network, and smarter ticketing. We are well on the way to delivering the Mayor’s vision of a safe, affordable and accessible network that aligns with our broader economic, environmental and social inclusion goals.
We are now looking to bring in a talented team to step up the pace in delivering this vision. As Head of Network Performance, you will lead and manage the operational delivery of the bus and rail services across the region, providing strategic and operational direction, driving consistent high performance and ensuring service delivery through effective contractual and commercial management that delivers innovation as well as efficiency. This will include ensuring a relentless focus on the accessibility, reliability, punctuality and quality of public transport services.
Reporting to the Director of Transport and working as a member senior management team you will bring significant and current related experience in a similar operational leadership role within a transport or logistics operator and/or transport authority. This will include grounded commercial experience in managing or delivering high-value contracts combined with the ability to work effectively with a complex range of stakeholders and commercial partners.
This is an exciting opportunity to work with a talented team to deliver a world class integrated transport system backed by significant investment in one of the UK’s most vibrant regions.
