The City of Doncaster Council

Working for the City of Doncaster Council gives you a chance to play a real part in the transformation of the city and contribute to delivering an excellent service to local residents. Doncaster has a clear vision for the future of the borough, and you could be a part of that.

As part of the new Doncaster, we have an improved and transformed Council which is fast becoming an employer of choice. We are now delivering a high quality service with economic growth, urban regeneration and improving the life of residents at the centre of everything we do. Under a challenging financial climate we are transforming adult and children’s services to ensure our current and future population are looked after and cared for.

Anyone looking to join us can look forward to a confident, ambitious organisation with big plans in an exciting phase of development for the city.

The Council is led by an elected mayor and elects 55 Councillors. The current Mayor is Ros Jones, who has held the position since May 2013. The Council administration is currently led by Reform UK, who hold 36 of the seats on the Council following the 2025 election. There are also 12 Labour Councillors, 6 Conservative Councillors, and 1 Independent Councillor. Damian Allen is the Chief Executive; for a full structure chart of Directors, please see below.
