In this role, you’ll be a system leader for improving the health and wellbeing of our residents, reducing inequalities in health outcomes and protecting local communities from public health hazards. It’s a statutory Chief Officer post, and you will be our principal adviser on all health matters to elected members, officers and partners.

We’re looking for a visionary and strategic leader who can deliver local outcomes through forward thinking, transparent and visible leadership. A track record of consistent impact within public health is a must, and you will have a clear, inspiring focus on improving health outcomes and reducing inequalities within local communities. Instinctively collaborative and able to work effectively with a wide range of partners, you’ll be adept at navigating complex political and financial environments. Strong communication and interpersonal skills will be essential, and you will exemplify integrity, accountability, and excellence whilst fostering a forward-thinking and outcome-focused culture.
