Chief Operating Officer

The Shared Resource Service (SRS) exists to deliver innovative, interoperable services for multiple public sector partners. We have unified disparate teams and cultures into “one SRS” with a shared purpose, while respecting the perspectives and needs of every partner and colleague.

As COO, you will turn strategic intent into operational excellence, empowering leaders, stewarding resources and sustaining a culture where people thrive and innovation sticks. This role sits at the heart of multi‑authority collaboration and you will need to balance political sensitivities with practical delivery by forging co‑leadership with local authority partners so that outcomes are co‑owned, co‑delivered and felt by residents and frontline services.

You will inherit a mature platform and a capable leadership team, the heavy lifting is done and expectations are clear. Your challenge is to sustain momentum and scale improvements at pace across our partner landscape. You will lead a sizeable specialist workforce and use modern delivery disciplines to improve customer experience, productivity, and operational resilience, with Artificial Intelligence and automation positioned as practical tools for better services and smarter use of capacity.
