- Andy Burnham, Mayor of Greater Manchester

It’s a unique opportunity to deliver one of the largest investment and regeneration projects in Europe, and a step-change in economic performance and quality of life for Trafford, Manchester and the wider Northwest.
Anchored by a new £2bn, 100,000-seater stadium for Manchester United and a new sports district, we also plan to deliver up to 15,000 homes, not to mention 90,000+ new jobs, 1.76 million new visitors to Greater Manchester, and visitor spending up by 7.1% in real terms. Impressive metrics, you’ll agree.
The delivery vehicle will be a Mayoral Development Corporation (MDC) which will work alongside a complex set of high-profile stakeholders to drive forward the regeneration objectives. The MDC Board, led by chair designate Lord Coe, will bring the governance and statutory powers needed to deliver this exciting project. This is where you come in. We are looking for 3 experienced and highly skilled non-executive directors who can bring a range of expertise across large scale placed based regeneration and development, visitor attraction, skills and employment, community and fan engagement and government relations.
We want to hear from a diverse range of people who have an outstanding track record in these areas with proven senior leadership experience, a nuanced and practical grasp of governance, and a strong preference for collaborative decision-making. Articulate and engaging you will be able to demonstrate a commitment to shaping an inclusive and sustainable approach to delivering a project of a lifetime.
