About West Sussex

The county of West Sussex is located in the south of England, and has a stunning mix of coastal, downland, and wooded landscapes, including much of the South Downs National Park. Covering 768 square miles, West Sussex is predominantly rural in character, with a mix of attractive market towns and picturesque villages; but there are also large administrative and economic centres in Chichester, Horsham, Crawley, Bognor Regis and Worthing.

If you love outdoor activities, then this is the county for you. The coast from West Wittering to Worthing offers stunning beaches and the opportunity for kite surfing, sailing and kayaking, while the South Downs are a rambler’s paradise. Cowdray Park is the home of British polo, and just ten miles up the road you’ll find the famous Goodwood Estate, home to the eponymous Festival of Speed, Glorious Goodwood and the Goodwood Revival.

There’s something here for everyone; great shops, lovely homes and a better quality of life. Theatre goers can take in a show before it hits the West End at the renowned Chichester Festival Theatre, and Chichester itself is a beautiful mediaeval cathedral city. We’re also well connected, with good transport links to London, Brighton, Portsmouth and Southampton: Gatwick Airport in the north of the county offers excellent national and international connections.
