Chief Executive

Location: Bury

Salary: £Highly Competitive + Benefits

Reference: A000566

Status:

An opportunity to join a dynamic and forward-thinking Hospice. Having admitted its first patients in 1991, Bury Hospice has gone on to provide invaluable palliative and end of life (EOL) care to hundreds of local residents as well as supporting their families, and in doing so has secured a place dear to the hearts of many people across Bury and the wider area.

In recent years the hospice has established itself as a leader in palliative and EOL care in Bury and has become a respected and authoritative voice in the locality and across Greater Manchester. This role will be the joint Senior Responsible Officer for the Bury locality, driving and supporting the borough’s strategic objectives for palliative and EOL care.

Alongside our partners, we are ambitious to do so much more. We are committed to strengthening our relationships with our external stakeholders with a view to not only being the ‘go to’ place for End of Life care in its broadest sense, but also to ensure as a system partner we fulfil our role well and with integrity. Within the hospice itself, we want to increase our capacity to care for more people and offer a broader range of services to our community.

Our next Chief Executive will be leading a well-established team and the role will take us further on our journey, working with our Board, staff, volunteers, partners and our community to achieve our strategic objectives. We are looking for leaders who will champion our values and bring experience of leadership from comparable settings, ideally with knowledge and understanding of the wider health and social care system. Your commercial acumen will help you spot and secure funding opportunities whilst your authenticity will inspire those around you to achieve even more.
