I am delighted that you are interested in joining Sheffield City Council as part of the leadership team for Legal and Information Governance. As General Counsel I am looking to create a leadership team that can drive forward the delivery of a responsive and effective legal service that has at its heart an approach that supports Members and Officers to realise the Council’s ambitions, through good expert advice that underpins good governance and assurance. 

We are looking for influential leaders, comfortable working in complex political environments and can give excellent legal and governance advice in a way that Councillors and Officers understand. Our move to a committee system and being in no overall control creates a real democratic engagement for all Members that has engendered a spirit of co-operative engagement to deliver for the City.  As Deputy Monitoring Officer you will be at the heart of that, supporting an exciting Council and City transformation programme with residents at the heart of the service.
