Director of Provider Services

Location: Salford

Salary: Up to £107,000

Reference: A001121

Status:

We’re bringing services home.
Now we need exceptional leadership.

Adult social care in Salford is entering a defining chapter. Following a landmark decision by the City Council, the whole of adult social care is returning to council leadership – creating a unique opportunity to redesign, improve and strengthen how care and support is delivered across our city. This is one of the most significant transformation programmes currently underway in local government. Our ambition goes beyond organisational change. We want to deliver outstanding outcomes, promote independence, reduce inequalities and reflect the voices of the people who draw on our services, carers and communities.

Significant investment has already been made. We have strengthened leadership, established an experienced Improvement Board and committed ourselves to driving sustainable improvement. Now we are looking to the future and building a service that Salford can be proud of.

You will lead a portfolio that spans learning disability, older people’s services, supported living and mental health provision. You will be accountable for service delivery, quality, workforce, finance, transformation, regulatory readiness and continuous improvement. You will play a critical role in shaping culture, improving performance and ensuring the highest standards of care and support.

We’re looking for a visible, values-driven and ambitious leader with a proven track record of leading large-scale services through change. You will bring strategic insight, political awareness and a relentless focus on quality and outcomes. Most importantly, you’ll share our determination to improve lives and create services that people can trust.

Why Salford? Because opportunities like this come rarely. You’ll join a passionate and committed leadership team at a moment when you can genuinely influence the future direction of a whole adult social care system. The decisions you make, the culture you build and the improvements you lead will shape services for years to come. This is more than a Director role. It’s an opportunity to shape the future of adult social care in one of the UK’s most ambitious cities.
