The Cornwall FLOW Commission (CFC) is an independent expert body set up to help accelerate the UK’s targets for renewable energy generation. Supported by Government, Cornwall Council, industry, the Welsh Government and regional bodies the CFC will play a key role in convening stakeholders to achieve progress on developing future renewable sources of energy and associated economic development, whilst minimising marine and ecological impact.
The Commission is seeking an independent Chair to provide strategic leadership, challenge and support in achieving these objectives. It will require a proven and respected leader with an extensive understanding of and interest in the UK’s energy and infrastructure challenges, ideally with particular knowledge of the obstacles to success in Cornwall and the wider Celtic Sea region. The successful candidate will also have experience of operating at Board level with the ability to influence at the most senior levels within Whitehall and Westminster and committed to the principles of transparency and integrity.
This is a tremendous opportunity to create impact at a regional and national level in delivering a legacy of prosperity for the region and sustainable sources of energy for the UK.
