Faerfield are currently supporting a Local Authority who urgently need an Interim HR Director to lead the HR and OD function. This role is critical for the Council in the delivery of its transformation programme, reshaping services and improving efficiencies.  An experienced HR professional and leader, you’ll bring strategic credibility and a hands‑on style to a fast‑moving environment, providing calm leadership through significant change.

You will lead the development and delivery of the Council’s Workforce Strategy, policies and people frameworks, shaping HR, OD and organisational culture across the organisation. The role focuses on building a skilled, engaged and empowered workforce, underpinned by an inclusive and supportive culture that enables the Council’s transformation, Corporate Plan and target operating model. You will also lead talent management and retention, ensuring the workforce is equipped to adapt to evolving ways of working and future organisational needs.

The role is offered on a hybrid working arrangement with at least 2 days a week required on site.
